New Coffee: Honduras Erlin Nolasco
THE COFFEE:
This coffee has a delightful acidity and is extremely sweet--an amazing feat for a coffee from a relatively low elevation. This is a light roast with cane sugar, grape, lime notes.
ABOUT THE FARMER
In 2012, after finishing high school at 18 years old, Erlin Alfonzo Nolasco decided to start a coffee plantation. He wanted it to meet the following conditions: it had to be totally organic, use quality coffee varieties such as catuai and pacamara, and win the Cup of Excellence in the future! His father supported him, giving him a plot of land to start his coffee project.
Starting the project wasn’t easy since he did not have the desired plant varieties. He was however able to collect the seeds from an outside nursery and successfully planted them on his farm. The farm is surrounded by a magnificent forest of pine, oak and a variety of wild plants, resulting in a pleasant and unique climate all year round.
