Red Roaster is back! A classic coffee blend in many ways, but mostly because it pays homage to our founder, John Clark.

The Story

The Red Roaster Blend is more than just a flavorful cup of coffee—it's a tribute to the origins of Vienna Coffee Company and the humble beginnings of our founder, John Clark.

Back in 2002, John started his journey into the world of coffee roasting with a popcorn maker. Yes, you read that right, a popcorn maker. His passion for great coffee quickly brewed into something much bigger. Eventually, an upgrade was an absolute necessity.

That’s when a bright red commercial-grade roaster made its way into the picture. It became the cornerstone of John’s early coffee adventures, transforming a hobby into a thriving business.

What began as a small garage operation roasting for friends and neighbors has now grown into an award-winning Roastery serving East Tennessee and beyond for 22 years.

If you ever find yourself in Maryville, Tennessee, you can see the famous Red Roaster that started it all on display at Vienna Coffee House.

The Blend

This coffee blend is a curated selection of beans that features some of John’s favorite coffee. This blend spotlights a fully washed Kenyan coffee, making up 50% of the blend.

It provides the deep wine-like quality found in the cup. Kenya is often referred to as “the wine of coffees.” It’s easy to see why because of its bold, intense full-bodied flavor, bright acidity, and notes of citrus and berries.

But that’s not all. The Kenyan coffee is perfectly complimented by the addition of Organic Mexico Chiapas to provide a sweet and chocolatey note with some nice floral spice.

We also included a natural Rwandan coffee, which contributes it’s own unique notes of dark chocolate, strawberries, and tropical fruit.

The result? A coffee with the perfect amount of depth and complexity. The Red Roaster Blend is a coffee that captures the adventurous spirit of Vienna Coffee Company and the journey from a garage in East Tennessee to an award-winning Roastery serving coffee lovers far and wide.
