Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee and is well established as a producer of some of the world's best. Vienna’s Organic Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee comes to us from the Debeka Farm in the southern region of Ethiopia. Debeka Farm is one of the main farms owned and operated by Kerchanshe Cooperative, Ethiopia's largest exporter. Great care is taken to produce this exceptional coffee. The coffee seedlings are grown under a sprawling one-hectare greenhouse so that they are grown uniformly and are planted in the coffee fields when they reach 20-40 cm. After harvesting the coffee cherries are processed using the washed process. Once received in our roastery, the coffee is expertly roasted to bring out all of it's unique characteristics. Expect tasting notes of cocoa, brown sugar, and black cherries in the cup along with a full body and bright acidity.
