We are thrilled to offer our limited release of Gesha coffee this holiday season! Starting November 1st, this unique coffee will be available online as an 8oz bag.
Finca San Jeronimo Miramar (FSJM) is a relationship we’ve had for a long time now. Their dedication to regenerative organic farming practices, data capture, and keeping pickings from each individual farm plot separate for quality evaluation is seldom seen in the specialty coffee world. For quite a while, you’ve seen their larger lot coffees in our offering list, either in blends, as a single origin coffee on the shelf, or as coffee of the month in the Coffee House. However, we rarely get to serve the rare variety they have cultivated called Gesha.
Gesha coffee is typically grown in small quantities, often on specialized farms prioritizing quality over quantity. As a result, it commands a premium price in the market, and it’s frequently featured in coffee competitions worldwide. The meticulous processing and harvesting methods used by farmers contribute to Gesha’s reputation for exceptional quality.
Finca San Jeronimo Miramar only harvests small amounts of this variety, and we’re so excited to share it with you. Each Gesha plant’s production is much lower than other plants; there’s more work going into harvest each plant, and FSJM pays quite a lot of detailed attention to its processing. Needless to say, it’s a bit riskier and thus more expensive. However, we think the occasional splurge on such a delicious and rare coffee like this is completely worth it. Treat yourself and let us know how much you enjoy this beautiful coffee!
