There is a new face at Vienna Coffee; and he is excited to be your guide as VCC continues to ensure you know that
“Great Coffee is an Adventure”!
Please join us in welcoming Matt Bolt as Vienna Coffee Company’s Director of Coffee & Training. Matt steps into his role as Director of Coffee & Training with several miles already logged in his own coffee journey!
In 1995, Matt discovered the allure of specialty coffees and the coffee house culture surrounding serious coffee enthusiasts while living in Nashville with his wife, Tammy. Fast forward ten years (plus add a move back to his hometown in Saginaw, MI) to find Matt exploring the process of opening & operating his own coffee shop. After five years of research and preparation, Matt acted upon an opportunity to take over an existing coffee shop and exited his then-career in tech support.
From day one, Matt and Tammy jumped in to conquer all the specialized skills a coffee shop demands. These skills included day-to-day business needs, working behind the coffee bar, and roasting all of the green coffee beans for their shop. Their reputation for superior roasted coffees eventually led to an expansion to craft coffees sales for online customers along with local restaurants.
Matt and Tammy soon grew the company into two successful locations with both fully dedicated to the business while raising their young son, Ryan. After eight years of full-time business ownership, the couple felt the draw of another change in their lives.
With Tammy’s family residing in East Tennessee and the appeal of living close to the Smoky Mountains, the Bolts sold their coffee house in 2013, packed their bags, and moved to Tennessee. East Tennessee’s vibrant and growing coffee culture kept Matt’s passion for the coffee industry alive.
Matt remained connected to the coffee industry as a coffee shop barista and General Manager/Trainer for Margaritaville© Coffee Shops. After moving to Maryville in early 2022, Matt discovered the opportunity to start his newest coffee adventure with Vienna Coffee Company; and he knew that Maryville was their new family home.
Outside of pursuing the ultimate cup of coffee, Matt and his family love the natural beauty surrounding the Smoky Mountains and its foothills. They embrace the people and diversity of culture of their new community. If he isn’t at the Coffee House, you might find Matt enjoying his passions for music, biking, nature photography, and craft beer.
If you see him in the coffee house, ask him what his latest-favorite coffee is. But know that his answer could change since he is relentlessly researching and seeking new favorites on his coffee adventure.
