Foothill Series brings Coffees of the World Home

Here at Vienna Coffee Company, we sincerely believe coffee is more than a hot, caffeinated beverage. It is the livelihood and passion of a chain of individuals that spreads around the world. Hard-working and determined individuals put their blood and sweat into cultivating and sourcing coffees, and as a roaster, we are honored to be one link in the chain that leads to your cup of coffee. We work hard to ensure that our coffees are expertly sourced, roasted with care, and packaged to preserve freshness.

With a nod to our vision for "responsible sourcing from seed to cup”, Vienna Coffee Company proudly produces our Foothills Series of specialty coffees. This series reflects the passionate livelihood of producers from single-estate and micro-lot sources. The end product in each bag results from a unique processing method at the farm, which we roast in small batches with a specific style designed to pull the sweetest and optimal "view" from each coffee.

This series is crafted to appeal to modern coffee connoisseurs. Their focused sourcing means these coffees are available in limited quantities, with the exception of the Foxfire Espresso and La Armonia Hermosa.

For example, we share the background story of our Honduras Foothills Series, which reflects just one of the family stories behind each bag.

Foothills Series: Honduras: Erlin Nolasco

Eighteen-year-old Honduran, Erlin Alfonzo Nolasco, pursued his desire to start a coffee plantation after graduating high school in 2012. He was passionate about keeping his plantation completely organic and use only high-quality coffee varieties such as catuai and pacamara. He was also determined to work towards winning the Cup of Excellence award with his coffees! His father supported his vision and provided a plot of land to begin his future.

He faced challenges in securing the coffee varieties he desired; however, he successfully collected seeds from an outside nursery and cultivated them on his plot of land. A plush forest of pines, oaks, and a variety of wild plants surround Erlin's farm. This biodiversity and the pleasant year-round climate contribute to his successful crops and the incredible taste of the end product.
