Vienna’s roaster, Melissa Leinart (Missy, retired on July 30 after seventeen years dedicated to roasting Vienna Coffee Company’s award-winning coffees. Employed since 2003, Missy has more years with the company than any other employee, other than the owner, John Clark. She quickly advanced from packaging the original roasts in John’s basement to the roaster on the workhouse 35 Kilo US Roaster used today.
Her meticulous roasting earned Vienna Coffee Company a Bronze Medal in the Golden Bean national competition, the largest global roasters competition conference, four separate years. In 2016, her faithful efforts to quality roasting also resulted in national recognition from the publication Mental Floss as the “State of Tennessee’s Best Coffee Roaster.” Vienna recognizes that these awards and their overall success would not exist without Missy’s dedication to the perfect profile for each roast.
Please join Vienna in wishing Missy the best of luck and God’s speed as she begins exploring new adventures during her retirement.
